welcome to the first stop of your journey; onyx harbour. it's the only thing standing between you and a coordinator's paradise. of course, it's only there for you to stop by the lab to retrieve your starter pokémon. the lab is off the coast of the island, a harbour erect not far out. it's a good-sized lab—perhaps smaller than your average one—and holds a bit of space. once you enter the surprisingly new wooden door that is framed by freshly laid concrete walls, you notice a medium-sized, square room with a large yet rugged carpet thrown in the middle, and a few love seats. there is also a large circular window in the wall next to the door that lights up the entire room. the floor, however, is a soft marble that seems to have been recently chiseled. if you go down the short hallway and go to the right, you come across a small room that is inhabited with shelves of pokéballs, ceompletely encomassing the area. this room is brightly lit, with a skylight just overhead. if you went right down the said hallway, you're taken to a flight of stairs, but it's forbidden to guests. this entire lab happens to be owned by ben redwood, who is also the professor. living with him are two assistants: kai richard and lucy winters. after you visit here, you're ready to ship off!

[ professor ben redwood & milotic ]

» professor ben redwood is a little different than most professors. he's a man that prefers to get things done quickly and efficiently. no time for dawdling or slacking off. of course, with precision comes impatience. unfortunately, ben isn't one for patience, and has a tendency to become a bit ornery when kept waiting. but over all, he's a very intelligent and stern professor; perfect to run a laboratory.

[ kai richard & golduck ]

» kai richard is the generous assistant of professor ben. he's a good person to have on your side. he's a hard working man that knows the difference between right and wrong. surprisingly, he's a very honest person, in spite of being an experienced sailor. the only real obvious trait is that he can be a bit loud and boisterous. but that's just to express his enthusiastic outlook on everything.

[ lucy winters & azumarill ]

» being as she's the only female of the team, she stands out the most. but she has more than one reason to be a unique individual. lucy's fairly bubbly, always forgetting what she's doing while blabbing about something that happened last week. a real chatter box. but when it comes to hard work, lucy's your girl. despite being preppy and young, lucy is a very intelligent young lass. a notable aspect of her description. of course, she always manages to get people to think differently.
