[/blockquote][/blockquote]It was so hot. The air seemed to pound upon her lungs with such force that it was almost impossible to breathe. It was almost necessary to wait the heat out, for if she wasted her energy she wouldn't have time to go berry picking later that night. Very honestly, she was hungry even though she'd eaten at dawn. The early bird got the worm, but after that, who got the food? She didn't feel that it was necessary to trapse around in the heat just to look for a berry. So, her skin may have lost some of its sheen, but she could work it all back. With her head lying on her paws, she shut her eyes, finally able to rest after her long conversation with an annoying Caterpie. It was so nice out... Maybe if she kept telling herself that, it would be true. A slight breeze stirred, causing the fin on her head to go into overdrive. There had been a change in the air? Why... What was it now? If it was another trainer, she would surely be gone before they could see her. Blinking black eyes opened to the light and she stood up, shaking any possible dust from her small body. The thing, whatever it was, was coming closer to her. Her built-in radar could tell. Growling inwardly, she padded backwards. There wouldn't be anyone near the water, would there? Everyone knew water Pokémon were the most beautiful, so obviously she would find solace in being with other beautiful Pokémon. Her resting spot wasn't more than a minutes walk away from the river anyway.
The sound of rushing water cooled her as she thought about it, eyes scanning behind her in case her head fin missed something. She didn't of course, but it was always good to check. Bounding playfully toward the water, now, she took a jump at the edge of the mud and dove. Water seeped over her head as her spikey gills kicked into gear, enabling her to breathe much more easily. Smiling, her tail fin propelled herself without an issue. The water wasn't too deep, but it was nice. Except... Where was everyone? It was nearly deserted! Little did she know, it was because the trainers came here for breaks whenever they passed. Annoyed because no one was there to share the beauty, she rose from the water, her back to everything behind her. "Hey!" Her head whirled around, panic filling her eyes. Her fin had failed her because she was underwater! A trainer stood there on her territory, a stupid Pikachu beside him. Narrowing her eyes, she swam closer. The stench of trainer was too much and she needed to ge rid of him. Even if it meant she would be too tired to go pick berries later.
