“Let’s go, Rosette!” Her voice called out softly, her eyes glittering brightly as she unclipped the only taken Pokéball on her belt. Tossing the sphere gently up into the air, Colette watched in excitement and amazement as it split in two, releasing a dazzling crimson beam. Catching the Pokéball in her right palm and placing it back onto her belt, the light faded and revealed a small and curious looking Pichu, her dark eyes sparkling. Colette couldn’t help but smile, this was the first time she had released Rosette, she desperately wanted to make a good impression on her starter pokémon. Crouching down in front of the tiny electric type, she smiled at her causing the Pichu to look up at her in response. “Hello Rosette, I’m Colette.” She said calmly, she didn’t expect the Pichu to love her right off the bat, she was in fact, a stranger to the young electric type. However, she hoped that the Pichu would at least like her a little bit so their relationship could grow. In response to Colette, Rosette sniffed her a little, twitching her ears as she listened to the woods and life around her. Reaching out to her new pokémon, Colette put her hand forward to pet her starter, earning Rosette to flinch a little and jump from the sudden contact. However, after sniffing her hand once more, she let Colette pet her head and she nuzzled into her hand a little bit. “We’re going to make a good team.” Colette said, brushing a strand of dark hair away from her face and tucking it behind her ear. “Pii!”
After having a quick bite to eat, Colette an apple and Rosette a few berries, Colette had decided to have something to eat so that she and Rosette could bond a little more and hopefully, she could learn more about her newly acquired Pichu. One of the things she found out was that after relaxing around her, Rosette was a pretty cheerful and bubbly character, her energy made Colette smile. Another thing was that she seemed to have a taste for sour flavoured berries, she knew she would have to remember that from now on. Now, they were walking slowly through the woods, Rosette often bounding forward to sniff some of the vast amount of flowers that grew all over the flowers, all of them were beautiful, now she knew why the people of Emerald Island loved to live here. She had also heard that at the contest hall here, the judges loved grass type pokémon, which she wasn’t so surprised about, since they lived in such a beautiful island filled with nature. So now, Colette decided to go on a little walk, hoping to bump into some wild pokémon to add to her team, she gathered the bluebell forest would be swimming in grass, bug and flying types. So, with Rosette, she was on a hunt for some new allies and more experience for herself and her newly acquired Pichu.

♂ lv. 5 It was rare to see a Volbeat wandering out in daylight. They usually swarmed at night, tails glowing and dancing in the air, forming wonderful shapes and patterns. All except for this Volbeat. He was one who usually came out in the day, ashamed and embarrassed to come out in the nighttime. He'd been taunted too many times, and had decided it was much easier if he just didn't go out at night. With a distraught expression, the bug-type flit-hopped--a way to get where he wanted that he preferred over flying. His mother always told him he would grow up to be a strange one, but she loved him anyway, and he loved her. So everything worked out in the end. Kind of.
"Vol," the Pokemon said, stopping to twist around to look at the bulb on his back. His face then contorted, as if he was straining something. His wings fluttered and the bulb flickered, before going out with a little 'fzzt.' Letting out a big breath, the Volbeat gave his tail one more hopeful glance before sighing. What was the point of a Volbeat who couldn't light up? Nothing, that was what. He couldn't join the other Volbeat at night, and he was sure he wouldn't be able to get a pretty Illumise to even look at him, not when he didn't light up.
Feeling a little dejected, the Volbeat continued to flit-hop, too absorbed in self-pity to see the Pichu and her trainer. He ended up bumping right into the small, yellow Pokemon, startling himself. Eyes wide, he instinctively charged at the Pichu in a Tackle attack, crying out as he did so.

The sudden appearance of the Volbeat made Colette jump a little, he looked pretty upset with himself however, before Colette could say anything, the bug type bumped into Rosette. Letting out a little yelp in shock, the Pichu bounced backwards, a small frown on her features as she glared at the rude Volbeat. How dare the little bug bump into her, Rosette didn’t care if he was having a bad day, it didn’t mean he had the right to bump into people whenever he wanted to. In her annoyance, Colette noticed her Pichu’s little cheeks spark with tiny electrical volts, she knew Pichu’s had trouble controlling their electrical power due to their young age, especially with emotion. In a sudden flash, the Volbeat began swooping towards Rosette in a tackle attack, crying out as he did so. “Get out of the way!” She cried out to Rosette, who was baring her teeth in fury at the charging Volbeat, sparks flying from her cheeks.
Rosette wasted no time in getting out of the flying bugs path, she quickly bounced out of the way, her dark eyes glaring at the bug who dared attack her for no reason at all. Sparks continued to flicker out of her cheeks and Colette decided to use her electrical power to their advantage, Rosette probably needed to release the power anyway. “Thundershock, Rosette!” She called out, watching as the little electrical pokémon dashed into action. Standing directly under the Volbeat she tensed her body and let out her own cry as she released the electrical power stored inside of her. “Piichu!” As she cried out, the electric shot out of her body and flew up towards the Volbeat, crackling as it did so while letting out a blinding light of energy. Colette watched in silence, hoping the attack would hit and wondering what they would do next.

♂ lv. 5
"Beat! Volbeat!" the bug-Pokemon cried as he tackled air. He had been bracing himself for impact, and when he didn't feel anything, he rather stumbled and fell, face-planting in the dirt. A little stunned, he lay there for a moment before pulling himself back up. Slowly, he got up, although it was more sitting than standing. He was still feeling a little dazed from impact with the hard ground, and he didn't even notice the Pichu's next attack. The Volbeat only saw a flash of light before feeling pins and needles all over his body. There was a moment when he couldn't stand up, even though he knew he needed to. But then it passed, and the Volbeat stood up, a little angry. He would have apologized, but not now. Not when the little Pokemon was so angry like that.
"Beat!" he cried, and at the same time, used Flash. He felt as if the electricity from the Thundershock attack ha helped, but either way, his tail lit up brilliantly, and even in the sun, it cast a blinding light on everything. Just before the light from the attack disappeared, the Volbeat used Double Team, creating illusions that circled the Pichu.
"Vol, Beat!" they all cried in an eerie echo, taunting the Pichu to try and attack the right one. The Volbeat knew quite well that he wasn't a very good attacker, not at his level. Rather, he had better attacks like Double Team and Flash, that he knew how to use. The illusions flickered and jumped, since it was just the Volbeat moving quickly in one circle, but they all seemed to put on a triumphant pose, as if the bug-Pokemon already had it in the bag.
