High school ending was a blessing in disguise. He would've started his journey sooner, but Summer would rather begin with a diploma and some street smarts he's obtained throughout his four years of high school. He didn't understand why certain individuals started training pokemon at ages thirteen or fourteen. It was like throwing a kid who didn't swim into an ocean with no flotation device.
It was miraculous how many changes have taken place since the beginning of high school. Summer went in as an innocent bystander and came out as a cynical sociopath with no regard for anyone but himself. How could these harsh changes have taken place in such a short period of time? Actually senior year is when it all went down; the wounds were still as fresh as spring. Summer tried not to think about the situation, but his mind tended to drift towards thoughts of Quinn. Cheating was the worst way one could hurt the other in a relationship. Obviously he wasn't enough in some way, otherwise he wouldn't of done what he did.
It happened before prom, which was supposed to be such a happy time. But then the rumors started, and soon Summer found out the truth behind his relationship. Lies. Based on lies, lies, and more lies. That's when the transformation started; Summer didn't even show up to his senior prom nor the rest of his senior activities. He spent it at home crying, thinking about what he did wrong. What he did to deserve this pain. Because he couldn't understand why, his mind wasn't able to process the reasoning behind Quinn's actions. That's when his emotions went into an internal lock down. For the rest of the year he didn't talk or socialize with anyone from his class.
Quinn apologized many many times. His excuse for cheating was 'love'. Love. Fucking love. Apparently he didn't love him the way he loved that other ass. During the summer he would scream, yell, and break things in frustration as he thought about that conversation. Things were different now. Summer grew in his own way, despite the fact the growth was mostly negative. He detached himself from all emotion, and now he didn't care about anyone or anything but himself. The blond walked into the laboratory/harbor with his head held high and a confident smile on his face. Today was the day he began living his dream.
"Is anyone home?" he asked. This was the only place standing in his way of the mystic Golden Islands. There he'd win pokemon contests and become the best coordinator the world has ever seen. "I've come to join the Golden Islands Coordinator League." His smile was still intact as he examined the room around him. It was a quaint little spot, but Summer's curiosity lead him down the short hall ot the right. There he came across a room filled with pokeballs. The boy's smile became wider as his eyes scanned every pokeball in sight. Very soon he'd have a whole team of pokemon skilled enough to win every competition he joined.
It was only a matter of time before he became the best.

[ AIDE LUCY WINTERS ] “Ooh no!” Cried Lucy as she staggered around the back room, her sight covered by the large boxes she was carrying. The blonde had been given the lovely task of filling up the supply for the starter packs, there was so much stuff that was needed it was unreal. Now, she was stumbling around the room without any clue of where she was going, her Azumarill was trying to call her in the right direction, but it didn’t help much. Almost tripping over her water pokémon, she soon found the desk and almost threw the boxes onto the wooden surface, a sigh of annoyance and relief flew out of her mouth. Next time the stock needed to be refilled, Kai could do it, he was the stronger one of the three and the box lifting would be easy for him but the prat had left it all to her. What a gentlemen. Thankfully, there wasn’t really much else Lucy had to do today, apart from stay around the lab for a couple of hours and helping the new coordinators with their starter pokémon. However, that wasn’t really much of a chore and Lucy liked helping out the newbies with their pokémon.
A sudden call made Azumarill and Lucy look over towards the door, the water type pokémon looked up at her trainer and she dashed off out of the room. A few moments later, Azumarill appeared and behind her, was a blonde young man. Lucy smiled and walked up towards him, her blue eyes the colour of the ocean. “Hello, I’m Lucy. I gather you’re here for your first pokémon?” She said, gesturing towards the shelves of pokémon. “Take as long as you need, I’ll be here if you need any help with your choice.” She chirped before walking over to the boxes on the desk and putting together a smaller box filled with the items the young man would need. “This is your starter pack which we provide, has the essentials for you as well as some money to start you off.” She said, her tone cheerful as she watched the blonde with the Pokéballs.

Summer blinked his eyes as Lucy quickly allowed him to begin his decision on which pokemon he'd chose as a starter. He felt like a novice, but it wasn't like this would be his first first pokemon. After all, he did have Bella to work with, and she was an absolute tiger. Hmph, I know exactly what I want already. Unlike most coordinators who are indecisive and stupid, Summer had already analyzed the pokemon here at the Onyx Harbour by asking around town before heading to the small building.
"Why Lucy, your such a big help...But perhaps you could do me another small favor....?" Summer leaned on the desk where she was preparing the starter pack for him. He smiled his charming smile and leaned in closer to the assistant's ear. "Won't you please show me where you keep your Bulbasaur?" he whispered. This was a typical move Summer performed on a girl and usually it made them melt like ice cream. Most women are suckers for close intimate conversations, he was sure Lucy would be no different.
Back when he was living in Cerulean City, Summer would always garden in the families orchard. He'd plant fruits, vegetables, flowers, trees, and all different kinds of plants. His family also had a Bellossom who always helped him manage the gardens, that is where his love for grass pokemon came from. Summer just loved greenery, and once he heard Onyx Harbour had a Bulbasaur available he immediately jumped at the opportunity. He was simply destined to train this pokemon into something completely outrageous. Something that will totally stun the judges at the Golden Islands contest halls.
Summer was an expert on grass pokemon and their moves, unfortunately he didn't have any to work with. He used to read up on the different kinds of grass pokemon that exist in the world. So many beautiful monsters to choose from! The blond was quite excited to start catching some for his master dream team.

[ AIDE LUCY WINTERS ] Her blue eyes blinked in shock as the blonde boy leaned in close towards her, she could almost feel his breath on her ear, causing the hair on the back of her neck to prickle. This kind of behaviour was totally unprofessional and not needed in the lab, however, the boy in front of her was a total hotty and she was only human, so she didn’t feel guilty about blushing at the young man’s words. “Y-yes of course, the Bulbasaur over there.” She motioned as she walked over to the large wall, filled with Pokéballs containing the pokémon inside of them. Walking down the wall, she motioned to the ‘grass’ section, each shelf was organised so the types were all in a group, the grass were all kept together, as well as the fire and water. Looking over the crimson and ivory spheres, she picked up two of the Pokéballs in her hands and passed them both to the young blonde in front of her. “Here’s the Bulbasaur’s that are available.” She said calmly, the spheres were held gently in her palms as she looked at the boy with her sea blue eyes. “The one in my right hand is female and the one in my left is male.” Her voice was smooth as she talked before placing the two Pokéballs in the boys hands, so he himself could make a decision.
Lucy sighed a little as Azumarill bounced into the room, sometimes; she missed travelling around the regions and competing in contests. In her time as a coordinator, Lucy had travelled to many different regions and competed in quite a few grand festivals before she settled down as a lab assistant. She had a lot of experience under her belt in both fields but she still understood how the new coordinators felt, she had felt that way too when she had gotten her starter pokémon and began her journey. This was one of the reasons why she enjoyed the job so much.

"Thanks." he stated with a violet wink. Summer looked down at the crimson and ivory pokeballs and immediately decided he'd get the male one. A balance of female and male pokemon was important to the structure of one's team. "I'll take the male Bulbasaur." The blond handed Lucy the ivory pokeball and held the crimson one in his hands. He smiled down at the new member of his team and grinned at his successful future. Anyone who gets in my way will be eliminated. I'll see to that.
Training was extremely important, and that's what Summer would do once he got to the islands. He'd work with Bella and his new Bulbasaur to perfect their moves so they could use them in the most beautiful of ways. "Lucy you don't know how much assistance you've provided me with today. I appreciate everything you've done for me." Summer bowed, his hand taking a firm grip on the crimson pokeball. He took Lucy's hand and gently kissed it with his apricot colored lips. "I'll never forget you." he stated, his eyes looking at her with a burning passion.
Summer was truly thankful Lucy helped him in such a swift manner, the boy was never the type who liked to wait. He hated slow and dim witted individuals; those were the type of people who just got in the way of his goal. Of course now with his new Bulbasaur in his hands, Summer would be able to mow down any loser who dared block him from the Grand Cup. First off though he'd have to collect the islands ribbons. But how hard would that be? Most of the coordinator's out there were probably ditzy girls and over confident chumps who think they know everything. Not much of a competition.
