[/i]. i wouldn't have minded, if he hadn't been so disrespectful. he just barged in with out even an "excuse me" and expected everyone to bow down to him. i don't know how lucy put up with him, but i expect he's not the first of his kind to come by. either way, we both received our starters, and were sent off to professor redwood's boat. he's an intimidating man, and i'm glad i had lucy tend to me, not him. i'm writing this on the boat now; we're headed to emerald island.

oh, i got a cleffa. i couldn't help it, i love the myth behind them and their evolutions. beside, i'm hoping they'll be a good contest pokemon. i named her celeste, meaning "heavenly" or "from the heavens." i thought it fit her quite well, and she didn't seem to mind. celeste is horribly curious, though, and i've had to return her to her pokeball before she almost fell off the boat and into the ocean. don't know what came over her. i also got a mareep. he's stubborn and hot-headed, but he's a good pokemon. he's named herbert, meaning "bright warrior."
i think i started off my journey quite well, and hope the rest will be the same.[/sub][/ul]
