They were dirty, disgusting, and smelled as if a fish died in it. Then never got cleaned. Instead of hanging around, he took to staying on the deck, where he could be in the "fresh" air. Breathing in sodium wasn't high on his list of things he enjoyed, but when he was forced to do so, he really had no choice. But being up in the deck wasn't the best thing in the world either, at least, not for Trevor. He would rather stand on top of an active volcano than have to be surrounded by water. Perhaps he was stretching it a little, but to be honest, Trevor couldn't swim, and the prospect of someone running up and pushing him over the railing wouldn't stay out of his imagination. He was quite relieved when the boat pulled into the Onyx Island's harbor, and was one of the first people off the boat.
Once on the docks, Trevor took on a more dignified pose, pulling his vest closer to his body and heading down to the island. His heavy boots clunked against the wood with each step, but Trevor paid it no mind, and instead, he pulled out a cigarette and a lighter (a pretty, silver zippo lighter with a venetian design with a red finish), and in one smooth movement, lit up and took in a deep drag. The lighter was then clicked shut and tucked back into his pocket, all while walking. Why yes, he thought he was pretty cool.
Trevor then continued to walk. He had no particular direction in mind, actually. All he knew was that he needed to find a laboratory, placed near the coast. He also knew that he had absolutely no idea where this laboratory was and that he was not about to go and ask for directions. It was a guy-thing. So he wandered, deciding that sooner or later, he'd come by the laboratory. And he wasn't wrong. He hadn't even been half-way through with his cigarette when he saw some kid prancing out of a building, smiles plastered onto his face. Without breaking his stride, Trevor walked over to the front of the building, facing the door the boy had just come out from. He then pushed open the door, as it hadn't been closed all the way, and walked in, as if he owned the place.
"Oi!" he called out, "I'm here for my Pokemon." He then proceeded to stand there, as if he was waiting for someone to bow down to him.

[ AIDE LUCY WINTERS ] Pulling her hair back into a ponytail, Lucy let out a soft sigh as she walked through the backdoor, she had just returned from a small jog around the dock. The day was a bit too cold for swimming and personally, she liked running just as much as water sports. So, with her music booming in her ears, she had taken an hour jog through the town. Taking out her headphones, she placed her MP3 player on her desk and looked for her Azumarill, who she found standing in front of the Pokéballs on the shelf. “Hey Azumarill~” She chirped, rubbing her Pokémon’s ears gently which caused the water type to grin brightly. It didn’t take long for Lucy to freshen up and change out of her sports gear and into something clean and fresh, a plain white vest top and some black jeans with cute high heels. Her shoes made a little clicking noise as she alked back into the back room and sat at her desk, tapping lightly on her computer keyboard as she typed in the password to access her account.
A sudden noise ruined Lucy’s tranquil moment, glancing to her Azumarill, who was asleep now on one of the couches in the room, she pushed herself up from her seat and walked into the lobby. Standing there was a tall young man with cherry red hair, smiling politely and ignoring his rude welcoming, she walked over to him. “Hello there, I’m Lucy.” She welcomed before gesturing towards the back room where she had just came from. “If you would like to follow me, I’ll show you the room where we keep the pokémon.” She said before walking back into the room, not looking back to see if the young man was following her. As soon as she walked into the room, she headed into a small walk in wardrobe and came back with a small box filled with items that the young man would need. “Here we go, we provide a starter pack for you.” She said, placing the box on a small table for the red-head to take when he was finished finding his starter. “If you need any help, feel free to ask.” She said calmly as she walked over to the couch Azumarill was sleeping on and softly petted her floppy rabbit-like ears.

He had expected someone to barge in like he did, not quietly sneak up to him. Without returning the introduction, he sniffed, tossed the cigarette butt onto the floor before grinding it out with the toe of his shoe, and proceeded to follow the girl. She was pretty, he'd give her that, but he didn't feel like that at the moment, and just wanted to go and get his starter. He already knew what he wanted, courtesy of his grandfather, and he was in a hurry to just go and get it started. Trevor wasn't the patient type, and he just wanted to get things going.
When she led him into the backroom, however, Trevor was quite surprised. It was a nice surprise, though. He had never seen so many Pokemon at once, much less Pokeballs. Sure his entire family tended to have oodles and noodles of Pokemon, but they were still trainers, and not allowed to have more than six Pokemon in their team at once. The lab might not look like much, but he had to give them credit: they knew what they were doing. Still paying the girl--Lucy, was it?--no mind, he sauntered over and chose out his Pokemon. It took him a while to find the Pokemon he wanted, but when he did, he quickly snatched the Pokeball off the shelf. It wasn't such an exciting moment, actually. He paid no attention to see if there was that 'spark' or that 'feeling' when he touched the Pokeball. He just grabbed it and tossed it into the air once before catching it in the same hand. Then, being the ungrateful teen that he is, he picked up the box, and headed out the door with a mock salute.
"See you, Lucy."
