Her father was a child molester; he got Courtney's mother pregnant, and then hired her to clean his house. After she found his diary, which spilled out all of his emotions and confession about child molesting, Courtney's mother turned him in. She married a young male, Mark Hoover, who suffered from extreme bipolar, depression, and many physical problems. Courtney was still raised in a loving environment.

She started out as a completely 'normal' child; one that would mewl and puke in their mother's lap, and one that soon developed into a curious, playful little terror on two legs. Courtney could never imagine life being bad; she grew up as a happy little thing, always giddy and eager to explore and try new things. However, around the age of ten, she met an older girl named Violet.

At first, Violet was more than friendly; she started out as a pure, fair soul, just like Courtney. The two never fought, never disagreed. However, when Violet fell in love with a young female named Shin, Courtney developed her first sign of unpurity; jealousy. All Violet wanted, all she ever talked about was Shin; and you could probably understand how devastated she was when Shin crushed her heart. She developed a sudden crankiness, and a more unpure, sarcastic side began to show on Violet. She took it out on the poor, younger Courtney.

Courtney tried her best to console her and take the mental beatings, and tried even harder to prevent Violet from dating another girl named Kia. Kia loved Violet to no end; the two were happy for a while, and Courtney was ecstatic to see Violet happy again. However, when Kia began to shove her around like Shin had, Violet grew insane.

The cutting began; the bitterness grew ever harsher. Violet slowly molded Courtney into a mature adult who could think on the spot; however, she also made her very emotionally confused and insecure. For two years, she took these mental scars, and Violet finally did the worst thing she could ever do to the little twelve-year-old.

She brutally raped her.

For a while, she was confused; half of her wanted to remain a child, but the other half knew that she was now past her childhood after losing her virginity. Finally, she decided that Violet was not helping her at all, and without a teary goodbye, she came to The Golden Islands in hopes of finally starting her pokemon adventure and fufilling her dream of being a character designer.

Now, she is in the region, and hopes to make all sorts of new friends and see new places. Courtney is still trying to recover from Violet, and will sometimes break down if she thinks too hard about the other girl, but she is seeking some sort of friendship to help her get through it.
