After a brief stop at Jasper Island, Summer decided it was about time to start his coordinator journey. After reaching Emerald Island, the blond started to traverse through Bluebell Forest. Unfortunately Ivy Town was at the end of the forest, which meant that the boy had a bit of walking to do. He didn't mind though, because forests were filled to the brim with grass pokemon. Hopefully he'd find one worthwhile to catch, if not he'd simply train his oh so beautiful Fiore.
"Bulba!" The blond raised an eyebrow and looked back at Fiore, who stopped walking. "Problem?" he asked. Fiore had the qualities of your basic man whore, pulling off a cool charm every time he saw a female pokemon. He tried hitting on Bella on the way over here, but she didn't waste two seconds when it came to rejecting him flat. The bulbasaur wasn't discouraged by this though, but rather motivated to capture the Lapras's heart. Pehaps he's into the challenge? The whole charade was quite amusing to the young blond.
Fiore nudged his head toward the direction of a tall tree. "Bulba! Bulba!" "Well I certainly didn't hear or notice anything particularly unusual." Scratching his head, Summer went over to the tree and looked up at it's leaves. Nothing special, just green leaves. Then the coordinator looked behind the tree and found absolutely nothing. "See, there's nothing here." he stated with an eyeroll. "Come on let's go. We've got ways before we hit Ivy Town."

♂ lv. 7 Despite what the others said, Seedot thought he was quite clever, thank you. He hung around the edges of the forest, where the newer coordinators were. They never knew how to battle, and he could always take them by surprise. he was already at level seven, unlike the other Pokemon around here, who were only at low level fives or even threes. Why yes, he did feel superior. Definitely better than that stupid coordinator. The boy hadn't even seen him. Giddy that he would be able to play before another victory, the Seedot poked his head out of the clump of leaves. He had managed to hide behind it when the human had turned around, but he was quite sure the Bulbasaur had seen him. With a snicker, the Seedot kicked an acorn down, aiming it at the human's head. They were so big, didn't they know that it made them bigger targets? Without checking to see if the acorn had hit its target, the Seedot scurried down the opposite side of the tree, where the coordinator wouldn't see him if he turned around.
This was just priceless! He kicked a pinecone that was near the ground at the Bulbasaur this time, then scurried behind another tree. Had they seen him? The Seedot was dying to poke his head out to see if they had, but just in case, he used Growth, forcing his body to grow a little bigger. Feeling quite intimidating, the Seedot lumbered out into the open.
"Seedot!" the little Pokemon cried, challenging the Bulbasaur. He knew the other Pokemon would be tempted to back down--who wouldn't be scared?--but a Pokemon wouldn't be able to back down from a challenge, it was in their nature! Seedot smiled. He would win again. And even if he didn't, he had a secret move up his sleeves. The Bulbasaur wouldn't even see it coming.

"Ow! What the hell!?" Summer looked down to see an ugly acorn resting on the floor. "Stupid ass tree..." The blond began walking forward when he noticed Fiore let out a small growl. That's when he heard the squeak of a blown up Seedot. Summer let out a disgusted grunt, repulsed by the pokemon. Seedot is the perfect example of an ugly pokemon who had no place on his roster. Perfect, now I have some small fry Fiore can practice his tackle on. he thought. Seedot wasn't exactly small at the moment, but Summer knew that trick. The culprit had to be the move Growth, which force the pokemon to grow a bit bigger. Hah, as if that will scare Fiore away.
"So you like causing trouble hmm?" Of course it would be a Seedot that threw an acorn at his head; the nerve of some pokemon! "Fiore let's show this mutated almond how real trouble is created. Tackle attack now!" Thank goodness the Seedot wasn't a female, otherwise the bulbasaur would hesitate in attacking. But since it was male (and a little asshole at that) Fiore wouldn't hold anything back.
Summer wasn't the defensive type (unless he had to be) and would always take the initiative in battle. He wasn't weak like Kira, who'd get absolutely nowhere with her pathetic Squirtle and retarded Seel. He couldn't wait to face her off in the Ivy Town Pokemon Contest. She probably wouldn't even make it pass the appeal stage, but then again she'll probably get points for being 'cute'. He wasn't attracted to girls so he didn't understand where the 'cute' comes from. If she does happen to pass he will pray to be matched up against her in the battle rounds.
The bulbasaur ran and threw his body at the round pokemon, hopefully knocking it right into the trunk of a tree. Psssh as if it can do anything harmful besides kicking nuts at people. he thought. The only thing that pokemon is worth is experience points for Fiore.

♂ lv. 7 Humph. This was how all the trainers were. They all thought he was just a stupid ol' Seedot without any use, and ugly at that. They'd all regret it once he evolved into a Nuzleaf and then a super-powerful Shiftry! Seedot could see the disgust in the human's face, and then arrogance at his assurance that he would win this battle. Well, Seedot would just have to prove that he was much better than what the trainer thought he was. Then he'd see who had the arrogant smirk on their face. It certainly wouldn't be the human. No, because the Seedot hadn't lost a battle ever, and he certainly wasn't going to lose today.
When the Bulbasaur charged at him with a tackle, the Seedot braced himself, taking a pose that looked very similar to Harden, but wasn't. Rather, it was a Bide attack. This strategy had worked before, and he was sure that it would work again. All the Pokemon thought he was just stupid for taking all their attacks. But then they saw that they were wrong once he released his stored energy. The downside was that he got to endure at least two full hits, but Seedot usually wasn't down by then. See, the Seedot was clever. He wasn't stupid and he was not useless. Then the Bulbasaur's Tackle impacted, and the Seedot was flung back into a tree. The Pokemon slowly got up, and flung the boy and the Bulbasaur a triumphant look. He wasn't going to go down that easily.
"Seedot!" the small Pokemon cried, taunting the Bulbasaur. Was that all he had? He'd seen Caterpie hit harder than what the Bulbasaur had. Seedot continued to call out insults and taunts. The Bulbasaur and the human both looked stupid enough to fall for them. Arrogant, too. He only needed to be hit one more time. Once more, and he'd be able to finish off the battle.

So it appears this Seedot is smarter than what I give him credit for. Summer thought it was a bit strange why the acorn pokemon looked all high and mighty after being knocked right into a tree. Obviously the little pest had something hidden underneath it's hard exterior. It was at this point that Summer wished Fiore knew more attacks than just tackle and grow. If only he knew vine whip or razor leaf, some kind of projectile attack. The only thing he had at his disposal was a direct physical encounter. Summer wanted to avoid that.
"Bulba!" Fiore seemed to be a bit confused as to why the Seedot took the tackle so lightly. It may be slightly more leveled up then he but a tackle was still a tackle. Not to mention he flew right into a tree. Pissed off by the Seedot's insults, Fiore began to run, initiating his own tackle attack. "Stop right now Fiore!" The bulbasaur stopped in his tracks, looking at his master with another confused look. being a new pokemon, it'd take awhile before he fully trusted his master's instincts. For Summer was the 'guide' according to a one bubble brained Kira.
This was a critical time since Fiore was at such a low level. He had to be very careful when facing against higher leveled pokemon. It wasn't good to bite off more than one can chew. At that time Summer remembered the effects of growl; It lowers the attack of opponent! What Summer was about to do was risky, but he was sure Fiore could handle it. "Alright, use growl and follow it up with another tackle!" he ordered. If Summer thought Seedot would use what he thought he'd use, then this move would save Fiore from an automatic KO.

♂ lv. 7 The Seedot saw the Bulbasaur's next attack coming. Actually, he saw it even before the Pokemon started charging. They all fell for the taunting and the insults eventually. The Bulbasaur was obviously just more arrogant and prone to then more. But just before the Bulbasaur rammed the Seedot, he skidded to a stop, and the Seedot was left hanging. Loosening his tensed muscles, the Seedot looked at the human with great annoyance in his eyes. Perhaps he wasn't as stupid as the Pokemon thought he was. But either way, he had prevented the Seedot from finally letting loose his great attack!
But then the Bulbasaur finally returned to attacking, although the Seedot failed to notice the Growl attack that preceded the Tackle attack. No matter, he, for one, was quite sure that his Bide attack would take out the Bulbasaur. This technique had yet to fail, and the Seedot put a lot of trust in it. The Tackle attack hit him square and he would have flown back again, had he not been right in front of a tree. He had definitely taken damage, but not enough to take him out of the battle. Not yet. Having stored the energy from both Tackle attacks, the Seedot got up and charged at the Bulbasaur, ready to release it all in one big attack.
"See-DOT!" he cried out, as he ran for the Bulbasaur. Little did he know, his attack had been cut by the Bulbasaur's Growl.

Summer smiled evilly when the Seedot finally decided to jump into battle. Now why did he wait so long to attack? Oh yes! Because of the oh so wonderful (and useless) bind attack; "Brace yourself!" he called out to Fiore. Seedot's attack would hit him no matter what, but at least it won't be strong enough to knock the bulbasaur out of the battle. These wild pokemon really think their experts in battle. Hah, they'll never get anywhere without a trainer. he thought.
Fiore flew backwords, slamming into the ground several feet away. "You got this Fiore, dust it off and tackle it again!" Firoe shook his head and growled at the Seedot before charging at it again. Hopefully it would faint after this attack, then again Summer wasn't sure how strong the acorn pokemon was. He couldn't be that tough, bind is probably the only move it knew. Three tackles should be enough... he thought.
Summer didn't really care for battles with wild pokemon. He would much rather be facing a coordinator's pokemon in a contest. Unfortunately he wouldn't be able to participate in Emerald's contest hall until he had a pokemon over level ten. Right now Fiore was at level five, so it'd take some time before he'd get there. This Seedot was just a stepping town in Summer's staircase towards success. All he could imagine right now was the look on Kira's face when his bulbsaur beats the shit out of her squirtle.

♂ lv. 7 "See-DOT!"
The Seedot's Bide attack hit squarely, and the wild Pokemon stood proudly as he watched the Bulbasaur fly back. He felt he had already won this battle, thank you, and it was hard to say that there was any reason to stay here any longer. Really, these trainer Pokemon were so arrogant, thinking they were superior because they couldn't think for themselves. He'd have them know, it was much better being a wild Pokemon. No one to have to listen to, a Pokemon could do anything he wanted. It was a carefree life and the Seedot quite liked it that way, thank you very much. With a quick hrumph, the Acorn Pokemon turned around to start heading back.
He didn't even hear the Bulbasaur coming.
The Grass type charged at him, and the Seedot was caught completely off guard. With a cry of shock and pain, the Seedot flew back, slamming squarely into a tree behind him. How was it that the Bulbasaur had survived his Bide attack? Seedot had been sure that it had knocked out the Bulbasaur. Having already gone endured two Tackle attacks, the third one definitely hit him hard, perhaps even a critical hit. With a bit of a defeated look, the Seedot merely lay on the ground, looking fairly shocked. It didn't seem like he was going to move. Instead, the Pokemon lay there, thinking about how his record had been broken. He had been defeated. He heard that your first loss always stung, but he hadn't expected it to sting this much.
Maybe it was the Tackle.

The coordinator began laughing as soon as the Seedot hit the ground. That little nut was defeated fair and square; "You might want to work on your strategy." he pointed out. Summer giggled and ran up to Fiore, patting him on the head. "You did such a good job Fiore!" The blond was proud of his dear bulbasaur; according to his pokedex he gained two levels! Amazing! At this point it won't take long before he hit level ten! Then I'll be able to enter the Emerald Island Contest Hall... He wondered how many coordinators have gotten this far.
Summer eyed the Seedot before turning his head and continuing his journey through Bluebell Forest. As if he was going to capture an ugly Seedot who'd only cause him problems in the long run. No thank you. "Bulbasaur!" Fiore mocked the acorn before running off to catch up with his master. As if anyone was strong enough in this forest to best him! He knew he was better than all the males here, but as for the ladies....Well that was a different story.
As they went into a deeper part of the forest, Summer checked his pokedex for more information on his Fiore's new level up. "Oh my god! You can perform Leech Seed now!!" The blond was happy now that he had more options to work with, leech seed was a very effective move if used correctly. Summer chuckled at the thought of his future battle with Kira. There was no way in hell her water pokemon would be able to stand a chance against his bulbasaur.

♀ lv. 6"Natu, Natu," the little Pokemon chanted as she hopped along the forest floor. She had been doing this all day, as soon as she woke up. She didn't know exactly why, but something had compelled her to do so. Momma Xatu always taught her about fate and sometimes, it's just best to follow what it tells you to do. So, here she was, hopping along because she thought fate had told her so. "Natu, Natu." To be honest, Natu didn't completely understand it either, but that was how it was supposed to be. Fate never really revealed what it wanted, until it happened. Eyes straight, the Natu hopped and changed, one syllable every time her feet landed on the ground. She found it strange that she hadn't tired out yet, actually. She was sure that she had at least gone across the entire Bluebell Forest, or half way, at least.
The Natu had been much too intent on her hopping, she didn't notice the trainer and his Bulbasaur in front of her. Actually, she hadn't thought of the fact that she might run into someone doing this. Either way, she hopped along, and bumped right into the boy. Startled, the Pokemon let out a squawk, stopping in her line of hopping. She looked at the bulbasaur, then then tall human. A little startled, the Natu turned and disappeared into the bushes, calling out every so often, screaming about how there was a giant out to get her.
However, as the Natu ran through the bushes, she managed to knock aside a branch so that something shiny appeared. Perhaps something left behind by another coordinator? But the Natu was fast; she would be long gone if the boy didn't run to catch up with her now.

Summer blinked as the Natu that bumped into him started running off in a panic. Natu....Aren't Natu's psychic? The blond knew this little bird pokemon would be another outstanding addition to his team! Before he could tell Fiore anything, the bulbasaur was already running towards the frightened Natu. "Bulba! Bulbasaur!" Called Fiore, as if trying to tell the Natu to wait up for him. The blond coordinator sighed and rolled his eyes, running up to catch up with him.
The boy didn't know much about bird or psychic pokemon. He wasn't very partial to fliers except for one, and that was Masquerain. Ever since he first saw one on his trip to the Hoenn region, Summer fell in love with the graceful poise the pokemon presented. He'd rock the contest hall no problem! Of course, a coordinator wouldn't be able to get anything he wants at a snap of a finger. It takes time and patience, especially if you want a specific pokemon.
"Miss Natu please don't mind him." he said loudly, hoping the bird would hear him. Hopefully Fiore hasn't already jumped on her like lion does when he sees a piece of meat. This particular pokemon seemed easily flustered, but with a bit of training she can turn into quite the confident gal. That is if he manages to catch her. That is, if Fiore doesn't scare her away. As Summer approached he saw something glimmer in the bushes. Now what could that be?

♀ lv. 6"Natu, Natu!" The Natu fluttered about, hopping this way and that. The undergrowth in the forest crunched under her feet, although the Pokemon didn't seem to notice. All her thoughts were trained on the fact that there was a Bulbasaur and a giant coming to eat her! She skipped one way before twisting another, zig-zagging between trees. Maybe she'd lose them this way. Maybe they'd get confused, and end up losing her. At least, she hoped so. She really hoped so, because she could hear the Bulbasaur running after her, and the giant lumbering not far behind. She then heard the giant call out, and even though she didn't know what he said, she seemed to be quite set on thinking that he meant to kill her and eat her like all the monsters she heard stories about. Mama Xatu told her she should never listen to any of the stories, but she couldn't help it! Not when they all seemed to be so... possible.
Suddenly, Natu ended up face to face with a large log. Not just any log, but a log that was too tall for her to even try to hop over. It was at least two times taller than she was. Which was big. She let out a defeated cry, before turning around. She was stuck, really. It was already too late to run, and even then, she'd have to run to the side, which wouldn't help her. That would just slow her down. Legs trembling and eyes wide, she merely stood there, just waiting for the Bulbasaur to come and... well, she didn't know exactly.
the glimmer in the bushes turns out to be an empty soda pop bottle. darn. claimed by rex![/size]

"A soda can? How lame." Summer rolled his eyes and turned to Fiore, but he just passed him and continuing pursuing the Natu. The blond let out a small sigh and followed after the bulbasaur, grunting every time a he hit a branch. Now Summer loved the forest, but camping just wasn't his cup of tea. How can one person sleep in the dirt with all the bugs and creepers crawling around. This body only sleeps on a bed. he thought. As if he'd ever demean himself by camping in the woods.
After swatting away several branches, Summer found that the Natu's path was halted by a rather large log. Fiore laughed happily, jumping around in order to gain the bird's attention. The blond sighed and crouched down, kneeling on a patch of dirt. The Natu seems scared....Hopefully I don't look as intimidating as I do when I'm standing up. Summer smiled at the Natu, he'd definitely have to teach her to man up if she joins his team. Bella will not be happy about a new female addition to the group.
"Trust me Miss Natu, the world's not that scary. If anything they should be scared of you." Summer winced at Fiore jumping around, and so grabbed him to keep him steady. "You have a decision to make." The boy clasped his hands together and closed his eyes, taking a break from his journey through Bluebell Forest. "You can come with me and be a huge huge star. You'll be the most admired bird pokemon in the whole world!" Summer didn't think about the fact she couldn't understand him, but hopefully the sound of his soothing voice would help her get some sort of idea of what he's talking about.
"Or you could just stay here and live the most boring life ever." Summer shrugged, his lips forming a small frown. Of course, if the Natu was uncooperative he'd just use Fiore to take her down by force. Of course, that might not work since she was female. Bella would have no problems giving the Natu a total beat down. She'll make the right decision if she knows what's good for her. Summer wasn't trying to be evil, he just wanted some use out of the Natu. Option 1) She joins with slight hesitation and Summer has a new pokemon to train. Option 2) She refuses and engages the Natu into battle, where he'll catch her anyway. Either way she'd end up his, this opportunity was too much to pass up. "It's your call Miss Natu." he bowed his head slightly, as if to say he's showing her respect. If Summer could charm a girl, he could easily charm a female pokemon.

♀ lv. 6All of a sudden, everyone seemed to be on the Natu, and she felt very flustered. There was the Bulbasaur, who was bouncing around and looking at her with eyes that looked like he wanted to eat her, and the giant who had managed to get here quickly. He even seemed to be a magic giant, as he suddenly grew shorter and a little wider. That was a little surprising, and the Natu flapped from side to side, screeching an alarm call. But then she realized that no one had made a move to grab her or take her away, and she slowly calmed down, although she was still trembling like a leaf. The giant had opened his mouth and started talking, and to be honest, Natu couldn't understand a word coming out of his mouth. But the longer she listened to the boy's surprisingly soothing voice, she seemed to almost understand, and she stopped her shaking.
But then his voice seemed to take on a different tone, and Natu could sense the negative energy coming off of him. She wanted him to go back to the voice from before, with the soothing tone and the feeling of a good future. Curiosity winning over fear, the Pokemon hopped forward a little, although she still kept a careful distance between her and the Bulbasaur. She didn't know what to think of him, and unless he either proved himself, she would keep a careful distance. The Natu did not like that look in his eyes from before.
"Nat?" she asked, looking up at the giant with her almond-shaped eyes. They almost looked like they were painted on her body, and as if they looked right into your mind and picked you apart. But she couldn't, she was only a low-leveled Natu. She knew old and experienced Xatus who could, though, and she wished that one day she could be just like them.

Success! Summer was glad that he had the ability to convince a pokemon (a female one no doubt) to join his team. He was sure Natu would just love it! Besides, it wasn't like he was lying when he said he'd make her a star. "Bulba! Bulbasaur!!" Fiore seemed pretty happy the pretty Natu would be joining them. He bounced up and down and cheered her on as Summer fished out an empty pokeball from his pocket. Their was only one thing left to do in this situation.
"That's wonderful Natu! You made the right decision." he stated with a warming smile. "Trust me, your not going to regret it." Leaning forward, the blond put out his hand with the pokeball laying on top of it. Maybe Summer could sweet talk any pokemon into joining him. Then again this Natu seemed totally clueless. Of course with a little training that negative quality will up and vanish. It wouldn't be long until she understood the real world. A place far beyond this small forest.
I could do so many things with Natu's psychic abilities it's not even funny. Having a psychic flying type was absolute gold! Everyone knows it was always good to have a flying type in one's pokemon roster. It opened up several windows of opportunity to pull off totally amazing moves! And I'll totally own at two on two pokemon battles! Natu and Fiore would make a good pairing, or maybe Natu and Bella instead? This depends on whether she'll get along with Natu or not. I guess we'll just have to find out. he thought with a grin. Oh, the future looks so good right now!
