contests rules,
[/color][/font][/center][/sub][/blockquote][/blockquote]
contests are the main foundation of being a coordinator, like a trainer visits gym leaders and collects badges, coordinators travel to contest halls and compete against one another to collect the ribbons. in this thread, we will inform you on the rules and regulations of the golden island contest halls.
*registration,
[/sub][/blockquote][/blockquote]
to take part in the contest you must first register and to do that, each hall has their own little rules. first off, in the battle and appeal round, you cannot use the same pokémon. that means, if coordinator sally wants to use her butterfree for the appeal round, she cannot use that pokémon in the battle round, she would have to chose a different pokémon on her team. because of this, that means you must have at least two pokémon to enter the contest and if the contest hall has double appeal and battle rounds, that means you must have at least four on your team.
next, in the process to register you must have completed the quests on that certain island as well as have your pokémon above a certain level. on emerald island, you must complete the first quest and have your participating pokémon over level 10. sapphire island will need your participating pokémon over level 20 and complete the quests there, and so on and so forth. don’t worry though, on each registration thread at the contest halls, it will remind you what needs to be done before you can enter.
another thing to mention is that only six coordinators can enter a contest at any time. if you didn’t make it don’t worry, you can go do other things while you wait for the previous contest to finish.
*appeal,
[/sub][/blockquote][/blockquote]
both rounds are revolved around the anime, so in the appeal section, you must use your pokémon’s moves to bring out the best in them and shine in front of the judges. as well as the moves, you can also use any objects you would like, from frisbees to pokéblocks, as well as seals and larger objects to make sure your pokémon shines. all of these objects are free, apart from seals, which you must buy from your local pokémart. you only get one post to describe your pokémon’s appeal so plan it carefully, also you must keep to the post limit of 300 words or above.
after all the contestants have posted their appeals, then the judges will decide who will go onto the battle round, beware though, only four of the six contestants will go to the next round.
*battle,
[/sub][/blockquote][/blockquote]
the four coordinators that make it to the battle round now have to battle it out for the ribbon and prizes. both coordinator will get five posts each to battle and show off their Pokémon’s strength and beauty in imaginative ways. unlike the anime, the battle round is completely decided by the judges instead of a points system, so the fate of this round is completely decided on your creativity and writing skills. the judges are always fair and will discuss the results among themselves until they can come up with a decision.
*prizes,
[/sub][/blockquote][/blockquote]
the winner and runner-up of the contest automatically get a ribbon after the contest is over, however, if the judges feel like another coordinator stood out to them, they can also grant a third person a ribbon, even if that person didn’t get past the appeal round! the winner and two runner-ups also get prize money, first place gets $300, second place $200 and third gets $100. everyone who took part also get a small prize for taking part.
